Located in a strategic area, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK) has become an attractive tourist destination for visitors. The park that is situated in southern Bali can be visited through a 10-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, 25-minute drive from Kuta, and 20-minute drive from Benoa Harbor and Nusa Dua.
The main object of this park is the gallant statue of Vishnu and Garuda. Both of the statues were designed and built by Nyoman Nuarta, one of Indonesia's leading sculptors. According to the plan, the statue, which is describing Lord Vishnu (the Source of Wisdom) riding the back of Garuda bird, will stand 150-meter tall with 64-meter wide stretched wings, and made of more than four thousand tons of bronze, and copper.
GWK is more attractive with a cultural park of more than 240 hectares surrounding the statues. This park was originally a limestone quarry that is not productive and has been neglected. With such a vast area, this cultural park also provides some facilities that can be used for performance, one of them is Amphitheater which is a place for cultural or acoustical performance with 800 seats.

Other facilities in the park are the Lotus Pond with a capacity of 7500 visitors with the Garuda as the background image. Then, there is The Street Theater that is suitable for holding various kinds of performances, from a procession to fashion shows. Turtle Plaza was built to accommodate 200 guests. For enclosed areas, there is the Pameran Galeri, a 200-meter area with a 10-meter square open courtyard inside. And, Indraloka Garden, the newest area in the GWK, can be used for a wedding and a dinner party.
The GWK is more complete with the Jendela Bali Restaurant and Café. With a spectacular panoramic view, this restaurant is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sunset after a full day tour around this place. Not only as a tourism destination, the park was also built to educate visitors, especially the younger generation, to maintain and develop the world's cultural heritage.
